World Championship Championship Will Start in Oslo From October 2

The preparations for the World Championships of Indian wrestlers have not started yet. There are only 20 days left for the championship to held in Oslo (Norway) from October 2 to 10. The team has selected through trial. Wrestlers are compelled to sit at homes due to the non-starting of preparatory camps.

Preparations proposed in Lucknow for Sonipat and women wrestlers

The Wrestling Federation of India has proposed preparations for men’s wrestlers in Sonipat and women’s wrestlers in Lucknow. Years later, in the World Championships, the Indian contingent will challenge the confidence of young wrestlers. Satyawart Kadian (97kg) among men and Anshu Malik (57kg), Sarita (59kg), Sangeeta Phogat (62kg), and Divya Kakran (72kg) among women experienced wrestlers.

Vinesh Phogat withdraws from a trial held in Oslo, Norway in October

Two-time Olympian Vinesh Phogat has pulled out of trials for the World Wrestling Championships to hold in Oslo, Norway in October in New Delhi.

Vinesh Phogat, a bronze medalist at the last World Championships, won the first round of the 55kg trials 10-5 against Anju. But in the second round against Pinky, she withdrew due to ill health.

Against Vinesh after losing in the quarterfinals

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had initiated disciplinary proceedings against Vinesh after she lost in the quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics. Even the 27-year-old wrestler claimed sentimental things elsewhere. That she was in poor physical and mental condition during Tokyo 2020.

After Vinesh Phogat apologized to WFI, the federation revoked his suspension. And he allowed participating in the trial.

Sakshi could not even qualify for Tokyo Olympics

Meanwhile, Rio 2016 bronze medalist Sakshi Malik lost to Manisha in the 62kg trial. Earlier, Sakshi could not even qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
