Women World Cup 2022 After Mithali Raj and Yastika Harmanpreet sets color in Auckland

The Indian team scored 277 for 7 in 50 overs against Australia in the Women’s ODI World Cup-2022 on Saturday. Harmanpreet Kaur, who came to bat at number 5 after Indian team captain Mithali Raj and Yastika Bhatia at Eden Park in Auckland, showed a strong game and all three scored half-centuries. Mithali contributed 68, Yastika 59 and Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 57 not out.

India didn’t start well

Australia captain Meg Lanning won the toss and invited the Indian team to bat first. India did not start well and got the initial blow in the form of Smriti Mandhana (10) on the team score of 11 runs. Opener Shefali Verma also could not do anything special and became the victim of Darcy Brown after scoring 12 runs. Due to this the team’s score became 28 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs.

Then Yastika Bhatia and captain Mithali Raj settled at the crease and put on a brilliant 130-run partnership for the third wicket. Yastika scored the second half-century of his career. She caught by Darcy Brown on the team score of 158 runs to Ellyse Perry. Yastika played 83 balls and scored 59 runs with the help of 6 fours.

Harmanpreet Kaur batted in a strong style

Captain Mithali was caught by Alana King at the hands of Perry. The Indian captain scored the 63rd ODI century of his career. She returned to the pavilion after scoring 68 runs. He hit 4 fours and 1 six in his innings of 96 balls. After this all-rounder, Harmanpreet Kaur batted in a strong manner. He scored the 15th half-century of his ODI career in 42 balls. She returned unbeaten on 57 off 47 balls.

Pooja Vastrakar run out on the last ball of the innings and scored 34 runs in 28 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Pooja and Harmanpreet added 64 runs for the 7th wicket so that Team India managed to cross the score of 275. For Australia, pacer Darcy Brown took 3 for 30 in 8 overs while Alana King got 2 wickets after conceding 52 runs in 10 overs. Jess Jonasson also took 1 wicket.
