Victor Song For 2023 Greece Eurovision Released

And today, Greek broadcaster ERT released their song for Eurovision 2023 during the show Dio Stimi Mia. Hear “What They Say” here. What They Say was written and produced by Victor himself more than a year ago. Victor Vernikos was selected internally by the Greek broadcaster ERT to represent Greece after convincing both the 70-member audience panel and the ESC jury from ERT.

Just a few months after the 2006 event was held in his hometown

Victor Vernicos Jørgensen (16) was born in 2006 in Athens. Just a few months after Eurovision 2006 was held in his hometown. He is half Greek and half Danish and has been involved in music since he was 4 years old. He has taken singing and guitar lessons and has also participated in music seminars.

He wrote both the music and the lyrics for the song

Victor started uploading his cover versions of songs on YouTube about three years ago. Their most popular cover version has been viewed by nearly 13,000 people. In 2021, he released his first song. He wrote both the music and lyrics for the song and also produced it himself. He is currently taking vocal and performance lessons with Nina Lotsari.

He narrated the story of his Eurovision song “What de se se”, which he submitted to the Greek selection process on Instagram. He characterizes his Eurovision song as a festive, atmospheric ballad. Greece began its Eurovision adventure back in 1974 and has participated in the contest 42 times. Greece has qualified for the Grand Finals 16 out of 18 times, missing out on the Grand Finals only in 2016 and 2018. Well done, Greece! Since 2004, he has finished in the top ten 11 out of 18 times. He has never finished last in a competition.

Won the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 at the age of 13

He aims to become the youngest-ever ESC winner. Victor Varnikos is currently the youngest Greek contestant in the contest, but he has already missed out on the record for the youngest winner. It will always be Sandra Kim from Belgium, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 at the age of 13. He won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song “My Number One”, performed by Helena Paparizou. Since that victory, they have been very successful at Eurovision.
