Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Indian shuttlers Suhas Yathiraj, Tarun Dhillon, and Manoj Sarkar have reached the semi-finals of the Tokyo Paralympics. Pramod Bhagat and his partner Palak Kohli also qualified for the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event.

Indian shuttler Pramod Bhagat and his partner Palak Kohli on Friday qualified for the semi-finals of the badminton mixed doubles event of the Tokyo Paralympics. In the singles, Suhas Yathiraj, Tarun Dhillon, and Manoj Sarkar also made it to the last four. Bhagat and Kohli beat Thailand’s Siripong Timarom and Nipada Saensupa 21-15 21-19 in Group B in 29 minutes to finish second in Group B.
Semifinals by Winning the Second Group Match
In Men’s Singles Noida District Magistrate Suhas, Tarun and Manoj qualified for the semi-finals by winning their second group match. In the SL4 class, world number three Suhas beat Indonesia’s Harry Susanto 21-6 21-12 in Group A in 19 minutes. While second seed Tarun defeated Korea’s Shin Kyung Hwan 21-18 15-21 21-17 in a Group B match of SL4. Suhas will now face top seed Lucas Mazur of France in the day. While Tarun will take on Freddy Setiawan of Indonesia.
May clash With Each other in the knockout stage
Those players take part in the SL classification. Those who have difficulty in standing or a disorder of the lower leg, while athletes with a disorder of the upper back play in SU. Suhas and Tarun qualified for the semi-finals after registering two wins each out of three in their group and could face each other in the knockout stage. Suhas has a disorder in one ankle. While at the age of eight, Tarun’s knee movements are limited due to a serious injury.

The Indian pair went down 12-21 20-22 to the French pair of Lenag Morin and Faustin Noel. On the other hand, Suhas did not have to sweat a bit in his match. Whereas Tarun had to struggle a lot in defeating his opponent. Bhagat has already qualified for the semi-finals in the SL3 class.
