Tokyo Paralympics 2020 Praveen Kumar Creates History in Tokyo
Friday has proved to be a good day for India in the Tokyo Paralympics. In the men’s high jump at the Tokyo Paralympics, Divyang Praveen Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida, won the silver medal and made it second in the world. Earlier, badminton player and Gautam Budh Nagar DM Suhas LY won the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 for the second time.
Praveen Kumar did high jump in Paralympics
During the match on Friday morning, he jumped 2.07 meters. In the men’s high jump T-44 category, Broom-Edwards Jonathan of Great Britain won the gold medal with a jump of 2.10 meters and Lepiota Masiejo of Poland won the bronze medal in the jump of 2.04 meters. This is India’s best-ever performance in the Paralympics. And after many years, the country’s medal tally has reached double digits.

On winning the silver medal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to Praveen and congratulated him on his achievement. The PM wrote, “Proud of you Praveen for winning the silver medal in the Paralympics. This medal is the result of his hard work and dedication. Many congratulations to them. Best wishes to them for the future.”

Praveen achieved the second number in the world
18-year-old Praveen Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida, finished second in the world with a jump of 2.07 meters in the men’s high jump T-44 category. Praveen Kumar has earlier shown his mettle in other international competitions. He had already talked about aiming to jump more than 2 meters in Para Olympics. Praveen Kumar ranked second in the world. He has accomplished his goal. After this victory of Praveen Kumar, there is an atmosphere of happiness in Gautam Budh Nagar.
Won more than 10 gold medals
In November 2019 itself, Praveen Kumar secured the fourth position in the Senior World Championship. He has set an Asia record in the World Grand Prix by jumping up to 2.5 meters. Praveen has earlier won more than 10 gold medals in national and state championships.
Suhas wins second time in Paralympics 2020
DM Suhas LY won the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 for the second time.
Badminton player and Gautam Budh Nagar DM Suhas LY have won the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 for the second time. Suhas LY met Harry Susanto of Indonesia on Friday morning. In which he defeated the Indonesian player. With this, Suhas LY has now reached the semi-finals.
