Why the need for a constitution
In fact, when the British rule from the country was about to end. Then India needed such a legal book. So that unity, equality should be maintained among the people of all religions living in the country. This book was needed so that the country is united and all the people get all the rights without any discrimination. In view of this, the demand for making a constitution started among the freedom fighters. When the country was about to become independent, the demand for the formation of a Constituent Assembly started rising.

However, on 29 August 1947, a big decision was taken in the Constituent Assembly. The drafting committee was formed under the leadership of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. After this, it was accepted on 26 November 1949 i.e. on this day. Later it was implemented on 26 January 1950.
