The Fall 2022 Anime Season kicks off This weekend

This is bound to be one of the best seasons of anime ever. The sheer amount of absolutely incredible shows — both new and returning — is enough to make any anime fan’s head spin. The Chainsaw Man alone is set up to completely take over everyone’s Twitter feed. As such, I’ve never paid so much attention to a weekly release schedule in my years of being obsessed with anime. It is very clear that the Fall 2022 season is going to define my personal schedule

The best seasons of anime ever

This situation is even more extreme for me, as I am currently based in Japan, while my partner—with whom I watch most of these shows—is still in the U.S. Anime releases so we can still watch our favorite shows together. Super cute, I know. Considering the 13 hour time difference, it’s also kind of a nightmare. All this is to say that I’m probably thinking about this program more deliberately than most people, so I’ll pass my anime on to you Am in a great position to provide scheduling knowledge. Look, the rest of your 2022.

1st day of fall of October 2022

Saturday, October 1st is the first day of fall 2022, and it will immediately become clear to you that Saturday’s schedule is downright ridiculous. I advise you to completely free them from other commitments. Or, at the very least, block out your afternoon.

Two big shows on saturday

Court 2 of Mere Pyare Spy X Family and Season 6 of My Hero Academia. Saturday will also mark the return of one of my favorite shows, which is so weird and therefore not a headliner: pop Team Epic. Other Saturday shows starting October 1 are Fearless: The Golden Age Ark – Memorial Edition, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2 of and Raven of the Inner Palace. As if that weren’t enough, a few more shows have been added to the schedule starting October 8th: BLUELOCK (a soccer anime with a fair amount of hype behind it), BOCCHI THE ROCK! (Another offering from Cloverworks), and welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 3.

Epic one late night show

One (some?) benefit of living in America is that you don’t have to spend your Saturday waiting for these shows. Pop Team Epic is a late night show (it’s a bit like Japanese Robot Chicken, but better) and will air at 12:30 p.m. ET, but everything else will be up and streaming until 11:00 p.m. ET.
