SP Sunil Dutt said that it was a joint operation of Telangana Police, Chhattisgarh Police, and CRPF. The operation was going on till 10.30 am and police teams are continuously monitoring the situation.
Losing support of local people in Abujamad area
Police further informed that this encounter is going on between Telangana Greyhounds and Naxalites. This encounter took place after two IEDs were found in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. These IED plants were made to target the security forces in the district. According to the report, the Naxalites are targeting the security forces with IEDs because they are losing the support of the local people in the Bastar and Abujamad areas. In the last few months, the search operation has been intensified in the Naxal-affected areas of the district.
Police sources had told about this arrest that this action was taken on the basis of secret information. He had told that along with the Naxal commander, some of his associates were also chased in this action, but they escaped from the spot. Many criminal cases are registered against the arrested Naxal commander. Police had recovered a rifle, bullets and other ammunition from the arrested Naxalite.
