India’s limited-overs team captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja started rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Both could not go on the tour of South Africa due to injuries. Both were seen at the NCA in pictures posted on India’s Under 19 captain Yash Dhul’s social media post. The Under 19 team is currently in the NCA, which is to play the Asia Cup in the UAE from 23 December.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have ruled out of the upcoming Test series in South Africa due to injuries. Both these players have started their rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Both these senior players seen in their social media posts with India U-19 captain Yash Dhull at the NCA. The Under-19 team is currently camping at the NCA in the UAE ahead of the Asia Cup starting from December 23.
Rohit can return in the ODI series
Rohit, who made the ODI captain last week replacing Virat Kohli. He was to travel to South Africa as the vice-captain of the Test team for the series starting 26 December. But a hamstring injury ruled him out during training. Their expected recovery time is between three and four weeks.
Jadeja will take time
India ‘A’ captain Priyank Panchal has included in the Test team, which arrived in South Africa on Thursday for the series, in place of Rohit. The senior opener, who took charge as the T20I captain against New Zealand last month, is expected to be available to lead the team for the ODI leg of the tour of South Africa in January.
