Robert Englund Reveals Stranger Things 4 Villain Backstories

Robert Englund made a guest appearance on Stranger Things 4 as the blind villain Victor Krell. And he shared the reason behind the character’s injuries.

Horror legend Robert Englund made a special appearance in Stranger Things 4. In which the role of the killer character Victor Krell was played. He was definitely an interesting character. But he was not painted for very long. Which left many questions about Victor unanswered. Leave it to Englund, for now, to fill in some of those blanks.

As a result, he blinded himself

In a new interview with Collider, Englund shares the story of how Victor was blindsided. The Freddy Krueger actor believes that Victor felt so sorry that he could not save his family which resulted in him blinding himself. Feeling too “blind” to see the dangers to his family until it was too late.

This is a sad backstory. But Englund said he’s not sure there’s any room for redemption with this character.

Perhaps some more answers about Victor Creel will be discovered in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Englund explained how the fourth season paved the way for Victor to return in season 5. So that his ultimate fate is revealed, whether it ends or not remains to be seen. As Englund says:

Apparently not, as Englund recently revealed that he auditioned not one, but two for the show, which is scheduled to premiere the final two episodes of its fourth season on July 1. Speaking to Collider, the “Nightmare on Elm Street” actor revealed. That’s when he auditioned for a role in the third season of the show. So he didn’t impress “Stranger Things” casting director Carmen Cuban.

“I probably went the wrong way with the character or something and I really wanted to be on the show. I was let down,” he explained in the interview.

Needless to say, that character was very different from the role of Victor Krell, who was accused of murdering his family in Season 4. Just how different was it? ok| If everything went according to plan. So he could have been Larry Kline, the former mayor of Hawkins.
