French star swimmer Yannick Agnel has been accused of raping and sexually abusing a 15-year-old minor. The Mailhouse Prosecutor’s Office said that the investigation against Swimmer Yannick began on Saturday (December 11). Yanik is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. He won both the medals at the 2012 London Olympics.

City Public Prosecutor Edwig Roux-Morijot said. 29-year-old swimmer Yanik has been placed in judicial supervision. Yanik was arrested in Paris on Thursday (December 9). From here he was brought to the city of Mailhouse in Eastern France in police custody.

2016 case is being told

The prosecutor said that as per the complaint. This case is being told of 2016. In this, a complaint of rape and sexual abuse of a 15-year-old minor has been made. At the same time, Yanik joined Mailhouse Swimming Club in 2014. Here he trained for about 2 years. Earlier, he had won two gold medals in the 2012 Olympics. According to media reports, many swimmers and former swimmers have been questioned in this case.

The current sports minister was also a trainer in the mailhouse.

2000 Olympic silver medalist Roxana Maracinienu has also been a trainer at the same Mailhouse club. Currently, Roxana is the Sports Minister of France. This mailhouse club has also been in controversies due to many other fraud cases. Most of the cases are from 2016.

Yanik made his international debut at the 2010 European Championships. Then he won gold in 400 meters freestyle. With this, he became the new record holder of France and the championship. Two years later, he participated in the London Olympics, in which he won gold in the 200m and 4x100m freestyle. Also won a silver medal in 4×200 freestyle. Apart from this, he also won two gold in the 2013 World Championship.
