Cricket West Indies announced the ODI and T20 teams in view of the limited-overs series against Pakistan. Next month, the Caribbean team will go to Pakistan to play a series of three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals. The tour will start with the T20 series. The first match of which will be played on December 13 at the National Stadium in Karachi. Kieron Pollard will captain the team.

Many uncapped players have been included in both formats.

Justin Greaves, Shamrah Brooks, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti and fast bowling all-rounder Odeon Smith have been selected in the ODI squad.
Smith and Moti have also been selected in the T20 team for the first time. Apart from these, left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder, Dominic Drakes has also managed to take his place in the T20 team.

Chance for new players in the team for both the series

New players have got a chance in the West Indies team in the limited-overs series for the Pakistan tour. Justin Greaves, Shamrah Brooks, and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti, and fast bowler Odeon Smith have been named in the ODI squad as new players for the ODI series. Many players out of the tour due to personal reasons

In view of the workload, Windies Cricket has rested former captain and promising all-rounder Jason Holder. Same, Andre Russell, Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer are not playing in this series due to personal reasons. While Fabian Allen and Obed McCoy are injured.

ODI series will be part of ICC Super League

The Pakistan-West Indies ODI series will be part of the ICC Super League which is being organized as a qualification for the World Cup to be held in 2023. The top 7 teams of the Super League will get a place in the World Cup directly with host India.

At present, both Pakistan and West Indies have played nine matches each in the Super League and both have lost five each. Pakistan is currently at the seventh position in the table while West Indies are at the eighth position.
