Presenters were discussing Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response – or ASMR – Charlie read a newspaper article about it. Naga Munchetti took a dig at the ‘annoying’ Charlie State on today’s BBC Breakfast.
ASMR aims to comfort people through auditory and visual ‘triggers’ such as whispering into a microphone, gently tapping something or shrinking paper. Charlie declares: “So, it’s a one-of-a-kind in the Design Museum.” The exhibition is and this is the first exhibition on Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response – ASMR.”
The Naga replied: “Well it sounds thrilling.
Charlie continued: “So the idea is, maybe you can see in this little picture here, there’s froth and stuff so there you go, and different sounds are made and the idea is it’s going to help you sleep.” It helps you sleep.
“Would you like some examples of sounds that make you feel more relaxed?”
She replied that she would “love him” and so she obliged and began patting her fingers on the table.
“Oh, that’s quite therapeutic”, though she was not impressed by the next noise, which was the sound of a newspaper crumpled.
