A fire broke out in a 19-story building in Mumbai’s Tardeo area. This building is in front of Bhatia Hospital in the Taddev area. At the same time, 21 fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the fire. Seeing the horrific fire, when the crowd started increasing, the help of traffic police and local police taken. At present, 7 people are reported to scorch in this incident. All seven were admitted to the hospital for treatment but they died during treatment. It is being told that out of those who died, 5 people died in Nair Hospital, 1 died in Kasturba Hospital and 1 died in Bhatia Hospital.

Describing the incident, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said, “When the fire broke out in the morning, the people around first saw smoke coming out of the building. After which the local people informed the police about the incident.” At present, the work of extinguishing the fire is going on here. 10 people have been injured in this incident. All the injuries were caused by the smoke. The mayor said, “6 elderly people in need of an oxygen support system and have been shifted to the hospital. The fire has been brought under control but there is a lot of smoke.”

The fire incident took place on the 18th floor of the 20-story building. According to officials, the fire started around 7 am. After this, 13 fire tenders were sent to the spot to control the fire. The fire was brought under control after two to three hours of effort.

Rescue operation still going on

Officials said there was a level three fire in the building. Even after the fire is extinguished, there are reports of people trapped there. Due to this the rescue operation is still going on. Officials said five ambulances have been deployed near the building.
