“The Huddle Up Group” for the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau
The news release from the city and county said. That the joint venture is the largest between the two entities—in scope and in dollars. said in the news release. That announcement would “highlight key findings included in a study by ‘The Huddle Up Group’ for the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau.” Huddle Up Group is an organization that deals with sports tourism.
Charleston Town Center property declining over the years
The Charleston Town Center property has been in decline over the years. The mall was sold to Hull Property Group in Augusta, Georgia in May of 2021. While Hull owns the mall, the Anchor stores are owne by various entities.
Sears property owner paves way for a new hotel
News reported on August 8, 13 that the owner of the vacant Sears property began ransacking the building to pave the way for a new hotel.
CURA works to redevelop properties in the City of Charleston
One of the original anchor stores, the former Macy’s, is owne by the Charleston Urban Renewal Authority, or CURA. CURA works for the redevelopment of properties in the City of Charleston. Applications for potential redevelopment projects at the former anchor store were due August 1, according to CURA’s website.
