The 44-year-old, who also has a 17-year-old son Junior, is transforming the property for the second series of Channel 4 show Katie Price’s Mookie Mansion after her once deserted home becomes her forever home. At one point, things were so bad that Katie couldn’t bear the thought of going back there – but that’s all changed. “I had a hard time coming home. I had bad memories of it,” she says. “I was introduced to someone who wanted to convert it into a wedding venue. But it turned out to be a hoax and he took away all my lands and left my house desolate inside.
It got broken into and someone turned on the shower
“And then it got dented and someone turned on the shower, so it leaked and my ceiling collapsed. It looked like a building site, hence the name Maki Mansion. “I got to a point where I could move back home, but to be in it, I had to change everything,” she says. When people see this they will think, ‘Wow! Is this what’s going on in your mind? I wanted to bring love back home and that is what I have done. Past is past and the house has now got a different feel to it. No bad experiences here anymore. It really feels like home.
Her pink beauty room is just as whimsical
It’s all my thoughts and my taste, ”she says. “I have white carpet everywhere. Everyone said, ‘Why do you have a white carpet when you have kids and dogs?’ But I want to keep this house nice and pristine. I think you can see how my mind is really set with some of the rooms. Her pink beauty room is just as whimsical, with a wall of flowers and a neon wall . . She tells us she was involved in renovating the house from start to finish. I love it because as soon as I walk in, I immediately think of my mom and my sister,” she explains.

In series one, viewers saw Katie’s mother Amy, 71, and sister Sophie, 33, design their garden room. At that point, Amy was diagnosed with the terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017. revealed that she wanted this to be a room she could remember. While Katie wasn’t too keen on the idea, it has now become one of the most sentimental spots in the house.
