Karan Johar Appeals To Delhi Government To Open Cinema Halls

Filmmaker Karan Johar has appealed to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Lieutenant Governor to open cinema halls in Delhi. The number of corona-infected patients is increasing continuously in Delhi. Experts claim that the third wave of corona has knocked in Delhi. In such a situation, the government has decided to impose various restrictions to bring down the cases of corona.

Karan Johar Expressed Grief Over the Closure of Cinema Halls in Delhi

Director and producer Karan Johar has expressed grief over the closure of cinema halls in Delhi. Along with this, he has appealed to the Delhi government to open cinema halls. The Delhi government has recently issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ in Delhi due to the increasing cases of Omicron and the increasing impact of Kovid-19. Under the alert, schools, colleges, cinema halls, and gyms in the state will remain closed with restrictions. Regarding this, Karan has appealed to the Delhi government by tweeting.

MAI Meeting held With Manish Sisodia

Now once again the release date of films has postponed due to the closure of theaters. Due to this, the film industry also has to suffer a lot. In such a situation, now famous Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has recently sought permission from the Delhi government to reopen cinemas. On Thursday, December 30, members of the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) demanded opening of cinema halls in a meeting with Delhi’s Deputy CA Manish Sisodia.

Maintaining social distancing norms in and out of the theatre, as compared to other settings. Well equipped to ensure a hygienic environment.” In his tweet, Karan has tagged the Governor of Delhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Chief Minister’s Office. He has also written Cinema Are Safe with the hashtag.

Corona’s Impact on the Industry

Due to the closure of cinemas, multiplexes and the film industry are greatly affected. Due to the restrictions imposed during the first and second waves of Corona, both industries have suffered heavy losses. This is the reason why on December 30, filmmaker Karan Johar has requested the Delhi government to allow cinema halls to operate.
