Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In Patrick Swayze Amazon Prime Vid Hollywood Remake Of Road House

Jake Gyllenhaal is all set to star in the remake of a cult classic Road House. According to CNN, the film will be “a re-imagining” on the 1989 film, which starred Patrick Swayze. Bourne Identity director Doug Liman will lead the project.

The new film follows Gyllenhaal, a former UFC fighter. Joe “takes a job as a bouncer at a rough roadhouse in the Florida Keys. But soon learns that not everything is as it seems in this tropical paradise.

Excited to be coming together.” Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gabemisola Icumello and Lucas Gage are also part of the project.

The film will be shot in the Dominican Republic later this month

The shooting of the film is set to take place in the Dominican Republic later this month. Joel Silver is producing through his company Silver Pictures. JJ Hooks, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch will executive produce. A remake with Gyllenhaal and Liman was first reported in 2021. The project was being developed by MGM, which held the film rights. And had long considered IP for remake capability.
