16-year-old Tasneem had a great performance last year
Tasneem, 16, from Gujarat, benefited from her stellar performance last year in which she won three junior international tournaments to rise three places to top the junior world rankings. Maybe I expected it.
Very happy to be the number one player in the world

This feat was not achieved by any Indian junior female player, including two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and London Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal. Lakshya Sen, Cyril Verma, and Aditya Joshi became the number one players in the boys’ singles category.
