IND vs SA Responsibility to Save India Again on Bumrah Shami

India vs South Africa 2nd Test:- The second match of the three-Test series between India vs South Africa is being played at the Wanderers ground in Johannesburg. Indian batsmen performed very poorly on the first day.

The Indian team reduced to just 202 runs on the first day of the second Test against South Africa at the Wanderers ground in Johannesburg. South Africa scored 35 runs for one wicket till the end of the first day’s play against India (India vs South Africa). India had scored 202 runs in the first innings, due to which South Africa is still 167 runs behind. Captain Dean Elgar was playing 11 while Keegan Pietersen scored 14 runs. Mohammad Shami took the only wicket from India. The responsibility of saving the Wanderers Test match has now come to the responsibility of the Indian bowlers.

Man of the Match Bhuvneshwar Kumar adjudged

In the first Test match played in Centurion, the Indian bowlers had bundled out the African teams for less than 200 in both innings. Apart from this, for four years, the pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami had piled up Africa for 194 in the first innings and 177 in the second innings at the Wanderers ground. India won this match by 63 runs under the leadership of Virat Kohli. In this match, Bumrah took seven wickets while Shami took six wickets. Interestingly, Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings while Shami did the same thing in the second innings. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has adjudged the man of the match. Apart from playing innings of 30 and 33, he also took four wickets.

Only KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin could struggle on day one

Caretaker captain Lokesh Rahul (50 runs in 133 balls, nine fours) and Ravichandran Ashwin (46 runs in 50 balls, six fours), who were debuting as Test captain for India, could only bat. Opener Mayank Agarwal (26) looked in tune but failed to convert a good start into big innings. India once again had to bear the brunt of the failure of the middle order. Cheteshwar Pujara (3 runs in 33 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (00) continued to fail. After almost a year, Hanuma Vihari (20), playing Test cricket, also return to the pavilion after getting a foothold at the crease.

KL Rahul completes half-century

KL Rahul, soon after completing his half-century, tried to pull the ball outside the off-side from Marco Jensen, caught by Kagiso Rabada on the boundary. Rishabh Pant (17) and Ashwin did not allow India to suffer any further setbacks till tea.

Ashwin hits Rabada and Olivier to the boundary

Ashwin took the ball of Rabada and Olivier to the boundary but Shami (09) caught Rabada on his own delivery. In the next over, Ashwin also caught by Pietersen by waving Jenson’s ball in the air. Bumrah (14 not out) took the team’s score past 200 runs in Rabada’s over with two fours and sixes, but this fast bowler ended the Indian innings by getting Mohammad Siraj (01) caught by the wicketkeeper in his next over.

Captain Virat Kohli is out of the match

In the final moments of the game, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj suffered a strain in his leg and had to leave the field. India will have to pray that his injury is not too serious and he can bowl. India did not have a good start to the match when regular skipper Virat Kohli ruled out of the match due to tightness in his upper back.
