Harnaaz Sandhu of Punjab, who won the title of Miss Universe-2021, says: She wants to create an environment in which fellow women feel comfortable expressing their concerns about health and hygiene. Sandhu, who has worked in a few Punjabi films including ‘Yaara Diya Pu Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’, is hoping to make a mark not only in Hindi cinema but also in Hollywood. Both these films of Sandhu released in 2021.
Harnaaz said – not only Bollywood but wants to be a part of Hollywood
Miss Universe 2021 said that she wants to be a part of Hollywood, not just Bollywood. Wants to use this platform to break orthodox thinking. She further said, “I would love to be a part of not only Bollywood but also Hollywood because through this I would like to break the stereotype. I think people of the 21st century are inspired by films and web series. That’s why I want to inspire people. I will try to talk about those issues which need to be eliminated from society.
After 21 years, an Indian got a chance to wear this crown.
On Monday, Sandhu became the third Indian to win the Miss Universe title. Before her, actress Sushmita Sen has crowned Miss Universe in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. Sandhu got this title in the 70th edition of the beauty pageant held in Eilat, Israel. Sandhu said that it is a big celebration for the whole country because an Indian has got a chance to wear this crown after 21 years.
Harnaaz’s mother is his inspiration
In a telephonic interview from Eilat, Israel, Sandhu said. I want to use this forum to talk about those issues. Which we should all be worried about. For Sandhu, his mother and gynecologist by profession Ravinder Kaur Sandhu is an inspiration. Who wants to pave the way for women empowerment with a special focus on menstrual hygiene and breast cancer awareness.
