Group Captain Varun Singh, injured in a helicopter crash, dies
Group Captain Varun Singh, who injured in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, also passed away. On 8 December, CDS Bipin Rawat’s helicopter crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. In this accident, 13 people including Bipin Rawat, his wife died. Only Varun Singh was the only survivor in the accident. On Wednesday, he lost the battle of life. Indian Air Force gave this information by tweeting.
IAF tweeted saying
Indian Air Force is deeply saddened to inform you that Group Captain passed away today during treatment. He was the only survivor of the accident on 8 December 2021. Airforce officers express their condolences on his demise and stand firmly with his family.
Varun was a resident of Dawaria in UP.
Group Captain Varun Singh was a resident of Khorma Kanholi village in Deoria, UP. He being treated at Army Hospital in Bangalore. Varun has been a batchmate of Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman. Abhinandan Varthaman had driven out Pakistani planes that entered India’s border on 27 February 2019.

How did the accident happen, who died?
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had told while giving information about the accident in Parliament. On December 8, in the afternoon, an Indian Air Force helicopter in which CDS Bipin Rawat present crashed. General Bipin Rawat was to go to the Defense Service Staff College in Wellington. The Mi 17 helicopter of the Air Force took off at 11.48 from Sulur airbase. It was to land in Wellington at 12:15. But on 12.08 it crashed.
