Great Yorkshire Show 2022: What On And How To Get To The Show

The Great Yorkshire Show is returning this week, with approximately 140,000 people expected to descend on Harrogate’s showgrounds between Tuesday and Friday.

For the first time, the show is hosting a twice-a-day Sheep Dog Trial in the main ring.

The show celebrates the best of the culture, food and farming of our region. Brand new shows and classes are being held this year to mark the event’s 163rd anniversary. Ms. Talbot will host a chat show with a slew of farming personalities including JB Gill of boy band JLS on Wednesday and Yorkshire Shepherds Amanda Owen on Friday. Some of the top animals on the Great Yorkshire Show stage will compete in the popular cattle competitions this year. The years will attract various international interests.

There will be approximately 350 competing sheep classes, including two new national breed shows this year for the Dorset Horn and Pole Dorset and Wallace Blacknose sheep societies. How do I get to the Great Yorkshire Show?

Transdev, The Harrogate Bus Company, operates a free return bus service daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Harrogate Bus Station, next to the train station.

Wheelchair access limited on the service.

Buses leave every 20 minutes from the city center and the service will be free.

There will be no service from Hornbeam Park station.

A direct route from Hornbeam Park station to the show ground is now available via the Showground Greenway and will signed on show days.
