Today Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally back on the small screen. The hot-awaited, six-part Star Wars series, which has been in the works for more than three years, sees Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen slipping back into their Jedi nearly two decades after their final outing in the Star Wars universe.
Galaxy from crime-fighters and Sith lords
What better way to celebrate than by jumping back into your monk-like robes, from Star Wars’ best-dressed crime-fighters and Sith lords to aliens in the galaxy. Whether it’s the all-black outfits of Darth Vader and Kylo Ren or the flashy hats of Force-friendly goodies Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan himself, here are the galaxy’s Jedi Masters of Style.
Din Jareen – aka The Mandalorian – obsession with exclusive one-pieces of armor rather reminds us of trainer collectors or real-world streetwear enthusiasts, locked in never-ending searches for the latest grails. Indeed, this intergalactic hypebeast is a wild beast that has its armor forged by only the finest craftsmen in the 3.2 billion habitable systems in the galaxy.
It would be fair to say that the Sith have some of the best fits in the galaxy and with Kylo Ren we’re getting mega-stylish, goth ninja vibes. Check out the oversized hoodie worn over that fabulous mane of jet-black hair, complemented by just a touch of eyeliner. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the dark side of the force hired Rick Owens to be its creative director. Definitely one of the most stylish Star Wars characters ever.
Lando Calrissian puts on a nice cape – watch that shoulder robbing action! Could it be made from cashmere by the leaders of lo-fi luxury The Row? Or perhaps Calrissian tapped Herms or Loro Piana to design his apparel. All we know is that this spacewalk from Swagger brought a touch of class to the proceedings. And extra points for good grooming: Blow dry hair and a neatly trimmed mustache are somehow more blaxploitation than sci-fi—a cross-cultural vibe shift we’re down with.
