Firecrackers Banned In Many States Including UP

UP government order

The Yogi government of UP has banned the sale and use of firecrackers that increase air pollution. Here on Diwali, this time only green firecrackers will be sold in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from these, the sale of other firecrackers will be banned. Recently, Additional Chief Secretary of the state, Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi had said that the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board is monitoring the air quality in 27 cities of the state these days. The Home Department has issued an order in this regard. Additional Chief Secretary, Home says that instructions have been given to all DMs regarding the sale and use of firecrackers. At the district level, the DM will decide the time limit for the sale and use of green crackers.

Madhya Pradesh government issued guidelines

The Madhya Pradesh government, while issuing a guideline on firecrackers for Diwali, said that in cities whose air quality is below 100 to 200, green crackers can be burst for two hours on the day of Diwali. Apart from this, firecrackers will not be able to be burst in cities whose air quality index is more than 200. On Diwali, only green crackers will be burst for 2 hours. At the same time, during Christmas and New Year, green crackers can be burst from 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm.

While ordering the bursting of firecrackers, the NGT said that those who violate the rules will also be fined. If someone breaks the rules for the first time, then he will be fined Rs 100 and someone bursting crackers in a silent zone will be fined Rs 3000. Apart from this, 10 thousand in public rally, procession, marriage or religious ceremony and 20 thousand fine for bursting firecrackers in silent zone.
