Eric Bischoff In Talks With Underground About The Role Of An Executive producer

The latest “83 Weeks” podcast is an “Ask Eric Anything” episode where Eric Bischoff answers fan questions.

Bischoff said

I talked to the guys at Lucha Underground about possibly coming early before the show starts. There was a moment when I was actually thinking about becoming an executive producer on that show with Mark Burnett, but it just didn’t feel right to me. I don’t think I was able to convince them, and I was not the right person for that job. I just wasn’t. I didn’t have enough experience in the Lucha culture and experience to do the kind of work that the format required. But yes, we did have some initial discussions. I had worked with Mark Burnett before, so I had a good relationship with Mark.

Lucha Underground premiere show

Lucha Underground premiered on October 29, 2014, on the El Rey Network. The show ended with the final episode airing on November 7, 2018. Bischoff’s timeline shows that his talks with the promotion took place in 2014 when his run with TNA ended.
