On 3 January 2022, the police received information from Congress leader Rita Yadav that unidentified bike-borne miscreants fired at him and he shot in the leg. Rita Yadav, who injured in a hurry, sent to Sultanpur District Hospital for treatment.

Disclosing the whole matter, the police said that Rita Yadav along with two youths named Dharmendra Yadav and Mohammad Mustakim planned the whole incident and Rita Yadav shot on her leg.
