Commonwealth Wrestling to be held in South Africa Canceled
Due to the Corona variant, Omicron found in South Africa, there has been a worldwide stir, which has led to the cancellation of the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship to be held in Johannesburg (South Africa). 60 wrestlers from India were to participate in this championship to held from December 3 to 5. But the organizers canceled the championship indefinitely after several countries reported flight cancellations to Johannesburg.

South African flights banned
It is expected that this championship may hold in March next year. Indian wrestlers were to leave for South Africa on December 1 to play in the championship. His flight was to go to Johannesburg via Doha. But after the ban on flights from Doha to South Africa, the flight cancel.
Commonwealth Wrestling Championship canceled
Similarly, the organizers were informed by England, Scotland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Singapore that their chances of playing in the tournament are very less due to the cancellation of flights to South Africa. The last Commonwealth Wrestling Championship hold in 2017. In which Indian wrestlers won a total of 59 medals by becoming winners. India had to defend its title in this championship. In which wrestlers like Geeta, Jitender Kumar had to return after a long time.

Return to international wrestling after a hiatus of four years
The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had tried to send wrestlers via Dubai. But then the news came that the championship has been postponed.
