Big news Thrill in ODI World Cup Now 14 Teams Will Compete Instead of 10

The ICC has made a big change regarding the ODI World Cup to hold in 2027. The number of teams has increased from 10 to 14. In the World Cup to hold in 2023 (Men’s ODI World Cup), only 10 teams are landing.

The big change in ODI World Cup to hold in 2027

The ICC Board has approved the change of the ODI World Cup to held in 2027. For the 2023 World Cup, the ICC has started the Super League between 13 teams. In this, apart from 12 full members, the Netherlands has been given a chance. Each team has to play 8 series. 4 at home and 4 abroad. But now this rule has abolished with the increase in the number of teams in 2027.

Tournament to be playe in three countries

Recently, the ICC has released the schedule of ICC events to hold between 2024 and 2031. The ICC has jointly given the responsibility of the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027 to Zimbabwe, Namibia, and South Africa. The addition of an associate country like Namibia means that even the fans of the smaller country can watch the big tournament from the front. Recently, apart from the UAE, the T20 World Cup was also organize in Oman.

Responsibility for three other big events also got

The ODI World Cup to hold in 2023 is to be playing World Cup, 2029 Champions Trophy, and 2031 ODI World Cup. The ICC Champions Trophy discontinued in 2017. It is starting again from 2025.
