Became Bodybuilding Champion In Five Months After Unrecognizable Himself After Ballooning During Lockdown

An overweight father, who has lost fourth place in just five months to become a European bodybuilding champion, now wants to inspire others on his own weight loss journey. Tim McGibbon, 33, of Lincolnshire, weighs in amid the lockdown. He was 16th 7lb from his heaviest weight after ballooning, and when he looked in the mirror he ‘didn’t recognize what he saw’.

Having previously participated in bodybuilding competition in 2019,

The teacher and online coach decided to use a competition—the Global Physique Organization’s Battle of Dan Helder—as inspiration, entered himself, and began his weight loss journey. To get lean again, he found a healthy diet. Started eating a diet and increased his training regime to five or six times a week with a combination of cardio and weights. Now his weight is 12 and a half stone.

Prioritizing health and fitness

‘I was feeling sad. I knew I had put myself in a bad shape in terms of health and fitness and needed to get back on track as soon as possible. The 33-year-old decided it was time to take action and prioritize my health and fitness , admitting that he was ‘stuck in a tangle.’ He also used some of Skinny Food Company’s products as well as food such as chicken, vegetables and white fish.

Tim said: ‘Representing Team UK in Holland recently and winning the overall competition in my category was an incredible feeling.’My goal now is to keep competing, running my two businesses to the best of my ability and as a father. I want to enjoy life – I look forward to what’s to come.

Sharing her tips on losing weight and helping others

My biggest advice is to make a plan and stick to it – you have to believe in yourself.’ It doesn’t matter if you lose 1lb or 10lb, progress is progress no matter how small .’Take pictures of your weekly progress so you can see your body changing, even when the scales aren’t – it’s easier to document progress when you’re tracking it with your eyes.’

After the Weight Loss Journey

, he is feeling much better and happier in himself than before taking care of his young family. Tim continued: ‘I am very happy with the way I look, but more importantly the way I am I feel mentally. I want to help everyone and tell them not to be afraid to ask for help. ‘Reach out on forums, WhatsApp groups, or even your local gym – there’s help around every corner’.
