After Samrat Prithviraj failed to do well at the box office, many netizens made fun of Kumar’s lack of dedication and his rigorous shooting schedule. Kumar has admitted that he completed Samrat Prithviraj in 42 days, and this believed to be one of the reasons behind the film’s failure.

In a recent press conference, R Madhavan also took a sly, indirect take on him. While promoting his upcoming release Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, the actor said that films take time. He said that it has been more than a year since films like RRR, and Pushpa, and there are actors like Allu Arjun who have surrendered themselves to the project. He further added that the actors who starred in the films mentioned above have time, and they haven’t finished in months. Many netizens were smart enough to point out that Madhavan was hinting at Kumar’s recent comment on his shoot schedule.

Now Akshay has retaliated and replied in a funny way. The actor recently seen at the song launch of his upcoming family drama Raksha Bandhan. During the press conference, Akshay asked to comment on R Madhavan’s indirect dig. The actor replied, “Kya kehna chaunga… Bhai my film mein khatam ho hai. A director comes and he says aapka kaam khatam, toh mein kya abhi tadhar karo sath hai.” Director Aanand L Rai also present along with Kumar and he supported him by saying, “There are people saying that a film is completed in 40-45 days. But it takes 80-90 days.” Kumar’s next Raksha Bandhan will release on August 11 alongside Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha.
