Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh informed the Lok Sabha today. Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (Training Command) Air Marshal Manvendra Singh will investigate the helicopter crash. The investigation team has reached Wellington on Wednesday itself. The investigation has started. Air Marshal himself is a helicopter pilot

Air Marshal Manvendra Singh CDS Bipin Rawat will lead the tri-services investigation into the helicopter crash. Manvendra Singh is the Commander of the Training Command of the Indian Air Force. Manvendra Singh is a helicopter pilot. Air Marshal Singh joined the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force on 29 December 1982 as a helicopter pilot. He took over as the chief of the Central Air Command in Prayagraj in February this year itself.

Air Marshal Manvendra Singh has a flight record of 6600 hours

Earlier in the year 2019, Air Marshal Manvendra Singh took over the post of Director General (Inspection and Security) at Air Headquarters. In his 40-year career, Marshall has flown many types of helicopters. Manvendra Singh has more than 6600 hours of flying experience. He has flown over Siachen, North East Uttarakhand, Western Desert, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Air Marshal has held many important posts

Apart from being a pilot, Air Marshal Manvendra Singh is also a trained flying instructor with extensive training experience. During his career, he has held many important positions. He has also been made the commanding officer of an operational helicopter unit. After which he made the station commander of an advance helicopter base. He has also been awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vir Chakra and Vishisht Seva Medal.
