A major road accident took place in the Anantapuram district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday night. In the car-lorry collision here, 9 people died and one reported to seriously injured. PM Modi expressed grief over the incident and announced Rs 2 lakh each to the family members. Police said all those who lost their lives were relatives. All of them were returning to their native village Urvakonda from Bellary in neighboring Karnataka state in an SUV car when a speeding lorry rammed into their car. The incident took place in the Kotlapally area on the Anantapuramu-Bellary National Highway, police said. Six women and a child were also among the dead. Police have registered a case in this matter.

3 people died in a road accident in Chittoor
Earlier, in Chittoor district, three people killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles. According to the police, Ismail and his friend Siddiq, residents of Chintaparti village, going from Madanapalle to Chintaparti on their motorcycle when they collided with Srinivasulu’s bike. The victims identified as Ismail (21) Siddiq (21) and Srinivasulu (40). Srinivasulu, a resident of Kothavaripalle village, died while taken to the government hospital in Madanapalle. The other two, who shifted to Ruia Hospital in Tirupati, also died.
