24-Year-Old Etsy Designer Created Beyoncé Disco Ball Cowboy Hat

It’s not unusual for 24-year-old Abby Misbin to make her own custom hats for NFL fans. Who want to represent their favorite team or for bachelorette parties? Now, enter Queen’s Bay and the Beehive. Misbin said that one of the Grammy-nominated singer’s stylists, Bea Ekerlund, reached out to her last year to purchase the accessory.

Misbeen told Insider that one of her most popular items is the disco ball cowboy hat, which she started perfecting last year, and was used as a centerpiece for one of her buyer’s weddings. And most recently, it has been seen in Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour announcement posted earlier this week. So it was a build-up of many months, which finally paid off, which I was happy about.

Messaged me on Etsy and said directly

He originally messaged me on Etsy, and just straight up said, ‘Hi, I’m working for Beyoncé. We need one of these hats,’ said Missbin, adding that he had only five days to fulfill the request. Instant and he paid instantly, which was easy and great. I was really relieved and grateful. He actually found a way to use it and people could see that he actually bought it. It was not a fake or a scam. He used it.

Located just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Missbin has become a frequent visitor, buying blinged-out cowboy hats from her Etsy shop “Trending By Abby.” She told Insider that she started her small business in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When she was a student at Temple University, my friends took a liking to her and everyone persuaded me to start an Etsy shop for her. Which was basically just the glitter cap that I still had listed in my shop.

The whole ordeal was a waiting game for Missbin, as it wasn’t until months later. She caught a glimpse of her creation in the album’s teaser, and realized that the hat was actually meant for the singer.

Missbin said her store quickly gained traction after a fan account shared that the hat was from her small business. resulting in dozens of orders. Despite some reports that his shop has closed. She clarified that she is only battling high demand and competition from copycats. The Disco Ball Hats in particular are sold out, and won’t be re-stocked for another week. Unless I can’t fulfill current orders, just because they take so long,” she explained.
